Last Wednesday during lunch, the 4th grade had tables set up in the cafeteria for prayer requests. All students, teachers, and staff were encouraged to visit the prayer tables and fill out a prayer intention form. The 4th grade will include the requests in their daily morning prayers.

Bob & Marianne from Warm 98 Radio came today to honor our Gifted Specialist/Accelerated Math and Accelerated Reading teacher Mrs. Anne Flick as Teacher of the Week! The 8th Grade Accelerated Math students nominated her. They came with gifts, an award plaque, and pizza from Westshore Pizza and Cheesesteaks.

Last week St. John the Baptist School celebrated Right to Read Week. The theme this year was Open a Book and Explore the World! We were honored to have the author Barbara Coyle present to the students. She has written In the Land of Soon Come a children’s book about her religious journey to Jamaica. Every day last week we had a mystery reader and time for the students to read. Families/students were also encouraged to donate new and gentle-used books for Ethel Taylor Academy. Everyone was VERY generous. The total books collected in one week were 2,145!
