Nate’s Toy Box was created in 2006 as a memorial to Nathan Schroeder who loved children, toys and reading. This week Nathan’s parents Gary and Pam Schoeder presented our school with a box of new books for all of our second graders. Their hope is to stimulate the imagination and encourage reading.

The Cincinnati Museum Center gave a science presentation to the preschoolers about seasonal weather. The students got to complete a water cycle using cotton balls, make snow, and watch beads turn to different colors in the sunlight.

8th grade students worked with A Child’s Hope International’s “Hands Against Hunger” program at The Hope Factory on East Kemper Road. The students were able to present the organization with $2138.72 through their fundraising efforts and the donations made toward the Lenten almsgiving project by parishioners from St. John Neumann, Corpus Christi, and St. John the Baptist on Ash Wednesday. These funds allowed them to package 8,640 high protein meals and enough water purification packets to provide over 4,000 gallons of fresh water for orphans in Swaziland.

The Pregnancy Center West would like to thank all the students of St. John the Baptist School and the parishes of St. John Neumann, Corpus Christi and St. John the Baptist who generously donated so many baby items and money in the baby bottles for our center during Catholic Schools Week. The total money counted this year was $537.09!
