First graders participated in an Advent service project. They collected items for preschool children in Camp Washington and used prayer rocks as a reminder to pray for those less fortunate.

Mrs. Shotwell and Mrs. Peters' Geography Bee had 36 participants in grades 4 - 8 this year. The Bee practice started at the end of October. They reviewed a different continent each week. The semi-finals were on November 27th. The final was on December 4th. The runner up was seventh grader, Adelaide L. Taylor G., sixth grader, was the winner. Taylor will take an online test in January to see if she qualifies for the State Bee which is held in the Spring.

Representatives from Our Lady of Visitation Old Timers Association dropped of a generous donation check for our school's tuition assistance program. The Old Timers Softball Association raised the funds at their annual golf outing.

Today, St. John the Baptist School hosted a Naturalization Ceremony in our Parish Center. Many of our students watched and participated in this memorable event where over 70 individuals from over 40 countries became United States citizens.

With the help from PTO and our St. John's Student Council, St. Nicholas made a visit to all the classrooms on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Borgman's Kindergarten class was so excited to see so many candy canes inside the stocking - one for everyone in the classroom!
