Several students in Mrs. Flick’s accelerated Math classes have taken the initiative this year to teach themselves how to solve the Rubik’s cube, including larger cubes and various-shaped puzzles besides cubes. The St. John’s 6th graders showed how much they have learned when they won first place by a wide margin at the recent county-wide math competition. They celebrated their success, surprising Mrs. Flick with a Rubik’s cube cake in class. They invite all St. John’s students to learn to solve the Rubik’s cube over the summer and keep practicing for the inaugural St. John the Baptist schoolwide Rubik’s cube competition next year.
