During the month of November, the first graders worked on a project that focused on common goals for the classroom. They were given a list of goals to work on both at school and at home, with each goal being a different color feather. Each child, then, made a turkey with the feathers that they earned. The goals included: writing a complete math fact family, writing a "thank you" note to a faculty member at SJB, reciting The Hail Mary, reciting The Lord's Prayer, reciting The Sign of the Cross and Prayer Before Meals, tying their shoe strings, writing their full address correctly, and using one of the social skills that we have been learning about with Dr. Holton. They all did fantastic, and had a great time making their turkeys before Thanksgiving break!
